KIRKLAND, WA and MARICOPA, AZ – April 17, 2025 – The Maricopa Association of Governments (MAG) announced the expansion of its Signal Performance Management program utilizing INRIX Signal Analytics. As part of the initiative, Signal Analytics will be made available through both the INRIX IQ platform and the Regional Integrated Transportation Information System (RITIS) interface developed by the University of Maryland’s Center for Advanced Transportation Technology (CATT) Laboratory.
MAG collaborated regionally to serve multiple agencies as part of the INRIX Signal Analytics Pilot effort. The solution supports MAG and many MAG member agencies which are excited to have help monitoring critical arterial corridors for their intersections using INRIX Signal Analytics.
Signal Analytics will also support:
- Corridor travel time monitoring across the region
- Cross-agency coordination for corridor management
- Regional analysis of intersection performance
- Model calibration and validation using a new, continuous data source
By implementing Signal Analytics, MAG and its member agencies will have access to a powerful tool that supports four core traffic management use cases:
- Identify – Agencies can pinpoint underperforming intersections and corridors that need attention, helping engineers quickly diagnose problem areas without costly fieldwork.
- Prioritize – By ranking intersections and corridors based on performance metrics, agencies can allocate resources more effectively, ensuring the most critical areas receive attention first.
- Quantify – Agencies can measure the real-world impact of signal retiming efforts, infrastructure investments, and operational changes, ensuring that improvements translate into measurable benefits.
- Validate – Using connected vehicle data, agencies can verify public concerns, calibrate models, and ensure decisions are backed by data rather than assumptions.
“Signal Analytics empowers MAG with unprecedented visibility into traffic operations. By turning data into actionable insights, MAG can identify issues faster, prioritize resources smarter, and ensure improvements deliver measurable impact.” says Bryan Mistele, INRIX CEO.
