The Challenge:
The City of Austin had a hunch that pre-COVID traffic congestion was building on the Slaughter Road corridor and needed data to support removing the free-flow signal pattern in favor of the PM peak signal pattern.
Solution:
INRIX provided real-time vehicle probe data, historical data, along with our Signal Analytics solutions, to dig deep into the corridor, spot the time and location of the traffic spike.
Results:
Engineers flipped the signal pattern in this spot and used the weekly data to demonstrate travel times were back to normal.
