KIRKLAND, Wash. and PORTLAND, Ore. – November 13, 2023 – INRIX, Inc., a leading provider of transportation data and analytics, announced it has signed a letter of intent to acquire Portland, OR-based Ride Report, the leader in the shared mobility data aggregation market. This deal cements INRIX as the preferred provider of connected transportation device data and insights through software-as-a-service (SaaS) solutions for businesses, cities, and public sector agencies worldwide.
Ride Report is a shared mobility management platform that helps cities launch, manage, and evaluate shared scooter, bike, and car programs. Supporting more than 75 public agencies across three continents, Ride Report’s software tools allow users to manage policies and compliance, analyze historical travel patterns, track and invoice operators for fees, and more.
With the addition of bicycles, ebikes, e-scooters, carshare, and micromobility freight data provided by Ride Report’s industry leading platform, INRIX now delivers a comprehensive set of mobility insights to help agencies make and execute policy decisions to better manage the public right-of-way. The acquisition also expands the breadth, depth, and convenience of INRIX IQ, a SaaS offering INRIX provides to agencies like the City of Austin, the San Francisco Bay Area Metropolitan Transportation Commission, the Washington, D.C. Department of Transportation, and many more.
“For nearly two decades INRIX has been focused on analyzing and facilitating the movement of people and goods around the world. We’re excited to now include shared mobility in INRIX IQ, which has become an important area for many cities” said Bryan Mistele, president and CEO of INRIX. “Fueled by an unrivaled set of breakthrough technologies and a talented staff, INRIX, together with Ride Report, will provide customers with industry-leading multimodal mobility intelligence worldwide.”
“Our mission has been steadfast – use the power of data to accelerate the global transition to sustainable, equitable, and efficient transportation systems,” said, Michael Schwartz, CEO of Ride Report. “By joining INRIX, we can achieve that mission faster and more effectively by providing public agency staff with the highest-quality multimodal data and insights in the industry. Ride Report’s shared mobility data ensures that staff have insights from bikes, scooters, and other new mobility vehicles alongside INRIX’s unique car, freight, and curb data products, creating a new level of understanding of the complete right of way when making critical infrastructure and policy decisions.”
In the global shared micromobility market, where ridership in 2022 exceeded pre-pandemic levels, Ride Report built the industry’s first, most comprehensive, and intuitive tools to support agencies as they visualize system performance at scale, enforce permits, invoice operating fees, and understand key performance indicators before and after infrastructure improvements. The global market for micromobility management solutions grew to above 400 cities, up more than 33% from 2021 and 27% in 2019, making Ride Report’s product a vital asset in a rapidly growing suite of INRIX services that help public agencies reach their mobility outcomes.
“We have established a strong partnership with Ride Report of more than seven years, helping to grow our approach to managing shared scooters, bikes and cars in Portland,” said Jacob Sherman, New Mobility & Electrification Program Manager at the City of Portland’s Bureau of Transportation. “We look forward to continuing that partnership to bring curb, freight and car traffic data into the tools that are forming the backbone of our 21st century approach to right-of-way management and smart cities planning.”
