BELLEVUE, Wash. – August 21, 2025 – INRIX, a global leader in transportation data and analytics, today announced the launch of its new Signal Analytics API, a solution delivering network-wide traffic signal performance insights for public agencies, signal hardware vendors, and consultants. The company will showcase its innovative API and other key products—Signal Analytics, Road Rules, and Compass—at ITS World Congress from August 24–28, 2025.
Introducing the Signal Analytics API for Traffic Signal Data
The INRIX Signal Analytics API provides agencies, consultants, and solution providers with detailed metrics on vehicle movements, approaches, and intersection performance. This data can be integrated into existing traffic management platforms, used for before-and-after studies, or included in regional performance dashboards. Results can be tailored by metric, timeframe, and geographic area to meet specific project needs.
“This new API gives our partners direct access to the same trusted, anonymized connected vehicle data that powers our flagship Signal Analytics product, but in a flexible, customizable format,” said Ahmed Darrat, chief product officer at INRIX. “This equips them with the ability to integrate critical signal performance metrics into their own platforms and workflows.”
Signal Analytics: Trusted, Proven, and Actionable
Built on the same data foundation as the new API, Signal Analytics is the first cloud-based application that uses connected vehicle data to help traffic professionals identify and understand delays at signalized intersections network-wide, without the need for new hardware or an additional application. Already used by more than 30 partner agencies globally, it enables instant performance monitoring with intuitive dashboards, advanced analytics, and direct data integration capabilities to support smarter, faster traffic management decisions.
“We are using Signal Analytics to quantitatively verify the extent of existing issues and the degree of improvement/benefit once we make changes and adjustments,” said Lance Ballard, traffic engineer at Kimley-Horn.
Road Rules: Digitally Managing Today’s Streets
INRIX has also relaunched its urban management product, Road Rules, to help cities digitally manage and communicate curb and travel lane rules, along with related physical infrastructure. The cloud-based application ensures information stays current for a variety of internal and external stakeholders, from autonomous vehicle fleets to delivery operators. Road Rules integrates directly with city agency asset databases to automatically update curb and street policies, helping stakeholders stay informed and comply with the latest regulations.
“Road Rules gives the City more capacity to improve ROW management through data and technology,” said Akshay Malik, smart cities director for Philadelphia. “We can leverage existing data standards from the Open Mobility Foundation to map the ROW in more detail and test new ways to digitally manage it through our pilot in Center City, improving safety for drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians.”
Connect with INRIX at ITS World Congress
ITS World Congress attendees can visit INRIX at booth #2012 to see live demonstrations of the Signal Analytics API, Signal Analytics and Road Rules in action. Demos of Signal Analytics will be held at 2 p.m. each day, and Road Rules will be showcased at 11 a.m. daily.
Throughout the conference, INRIX will also demo its Compass product, a generative AI-powered tool that interprets large-scale mobility data to provide real-time, contextual insights on traffic issues. Compass allows cities, agencies, and businesses to query the system and receive clear explanations that outline current conditions, contributing factors, and potential responses, helping users better understand and address mobility challenges.
